VetFran: Tapping an Emerging Market While Gaining Franchisee Publicity
During her tenure at the International Franchise Association, Amy Bannon
worked closely with the media and members of the franchising community to publicize the good story the franchising sector has to
tell about helping veterans become franchised small business owners through the VetFran initiative, a program where participating
companies offer their "best deal” to veterans seeking to buy a franchise. To date, more than 600
franchised small businesses have been sold to veterans in 48 different states.
As a result of a multi-pronged media campaign, more than
65 positive stories about the VetFran initiative, often with profiles
of the veteran franchisees have appeared in newspapers, magazines, radio and television shows around the world.
